Elephant Rides in Phuket

Elephant rides near Nai Harn Beach

a one year old baby male loves a dozen banana’s, one at a time

An elephant ride is a must do when you come to Thailand. The Asian variety of elephant have long since been domesticated by Thai’s, unlike their larger more wild African cousins, Thai elephants are comfortable around people. As you will see in imagery and icons all over Thailand, elephants are revered, respected and held in high esteem. I had a great time on my elephant ride yesterday and it was a real treat to feed a one year old baby male. They gobble banana’s like they are going out of style. TheĀ  Seaview Elephant Camp is close to Nai Harn Beach and Rawai Beach. Here you can also rent ATV’s and see a monkey show. If you rent a scooter and start driving between Nai Harn Beach and Kata Beach you cannot miss the elephant camps.
