Urbana Hotel in Bangkok

I am currently staying at the Urbana Hotel on Lang Suan Road in BKK and the reason that I want to review this hotel is because the staff have done a rare favour for me.

As business travellers know or as any hotel guest knows, travel plans can change. I booked my reservation through Agoda.com after clicking on the above link and I prepaid for 9 nights in full. These days the big booking engines are great for providing competitive pricing and a broad selection of hotels, but there can be a lack of flexibility if you want change your travel plans and booking direct with hotels is not safe nor does it provide any assurance of making changes after you reserve.

Enter the reason that I am so happy with the Urbana Hotel on Lang Suan Road –  they are allowing me to suspend my stay after only 3 nights so that I can travel to other destinations as long as I return to them at some future date to complete my stay. No penalties, no service charges, no increase in room rates and no complaints from staff, in fact, they were happy to help me. I will also say that the free breakfast is very good and the roof top swimming pool and gym are both above average.

FREE WIFI. To my surprise upon check in, they offered me free daily WIFI access. What a bonus because other hotels in Thailand routinely charge about $13  TO $15 USD per day for wifi access. My rate is $59 per day which is a huge bargain because the Urbana Hotel is in an upscale area and is close to 2 skyrain (BTS) stations – the Chidom station on the Sukhumvit BTS line and the Radjadamari Station on the Silom BTS line.

The Urbana Hotel is very close to Lumphini Park and its super close to all the malls like Siam Paragon, Central World or the bargain shoppers paradise like Siam Square or MBK Mall.
