While on The Best of Chiang Mai you will enjoy a variety of activities including trips to interesting restaurants, markets, temples, hiking trails and cycling through ricefields and villages. 

You will experience Thai farming, Thai cultural and get a good taste of life in rural northern Thailand. You will explore ruins and Buddhist temples.

Morning arrival in Chiang Mai. Your guide and driver will meet you at the airport or at the railway station.They will take you for lunch at a beautiful teakwooden restaurant that specializes in Northern Thai food.We will then briefly visit the highlights of Wiang Kum Kam, the ‘underground city’.  Wiang Kum Kam was the predecessor of Chiang Mai.Then drive up to the Doi Suthep, a 1600-meter high mountain towering over Chiang Mai. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a beautiful temple from which you have a fantastic view over the city.Return to in the late afternoon. Overnight at Amora Hotel – Superior room


Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel at 0830. We will drive to the Ping River. We will cross the river at the so-called Iron Bridge and will drive towards the Wat Ket area. Doing so we will pass the first Christian church of Chiang Mai, founded in 1868. We will visit Wat Ket, a temple with an interesting story as well as a remarkable small museum with lots of historical photos of Chiang Mai. We continue to the most famous markets of Chiang Mai, the adjoining Warorot and Ton Lamyai markets. Your guide will take you around and will let you taste some of the typical Northern Thai delicacies for sale here. We will also visit a Chinese pagoda in what is Chiang Mai’s Chinatown. You will learn about the history of these colorful markets. Next stop will be Wat Buppharam, a beautiful temple in Burmese and Lanna style.By now it is time for lunch. We will take you to a riverside restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious Thai lunch. After lunch we will return to the hotel to fresh up.At around 4 PM you will be picked up for your Thai cooking course. The course takes place a bit outside of the city in a lovely setting. You will visit a wonderful fresh food market where you will buy your ingredients. Guided by a knowledgeable Thai chef you will prepare your own dinner.After you have finished your tastey dinner we will transfer you back to the hotel.Overnight at Amora Hotel – Superior room


Your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel. Drive to Tweechol Botanic Garden. Here we start cycling. After a brief safety instruction we are on our way! Most likely we are the first visitors of this fantastic botanical garden. We visit the Fern greenhouse, cycle through the Palm garden, admire beautiful orchids and cactuses and get close to some of the animals in the small zoo, such as deer and ostriches. We can even feed them. Once we’ve covered the grounds, we switch to pedal boats and cruise around the garden’s tranquil lake. We visit the small Lanna Museum next.*We exit the gardens and continue cycling through the quiet roads of the Thai countryside where we pass glittering and seldom visited temples and rice fields dotted with water buffalo. It’s lovely countryside out here with great views over the mountains. We will visit local houses where sa paper, wooden dolls and textile elephants are being produced**.There is time enough for taking pictures and chatting with local people. We end our bikeride in a Tai Lue village with an magnificent temple.We enjoy a delicious Thai lunch on the way to the Mae Sa Valley for our next adventure: Zipline through the trees!You will get safety instructions first. After this you will get fitted in your safety harness and then you will follow your expert guides to start an exhilarating adventure! Soar from platform to platform on 16 different ziplines that take you through the jungle for bird’s-eye views and fun thrills. Challenge yourself by crossing a rotating log or a zigzag walkway. You are strapped into a safety line at all times so there is no danger of falling and you can quickly gain confidence about being high up between the trees!At the end of this adventurous day we will transfer you back to your hotel.Overnight at Amora Hotel – superior room*the museum is closed on Monday**on Sundays there normally will be less activity at handicraft places.


Breakfast included. Where to Meet

Your driver and guide will meet you at the Amora Hotel in Chiang Mai or in case you arrive the morning of, they will meet you at the airport or train station. The bus station is also possible but please keep in mind that trains do not run on schedule and its not as easy to identify people at the bus station. Please provide your us with flight arrival information, both flight number, airline and arrival time to well in advance of your arrival in Chiang Mai.

Guest cancelling within these time periods, fees will apply as follows: 

  • 15 days prior to departure, full refund less 10% of tour booking 
  • 3 to 14 days prior to departure, full refund less 25% of tour booking  
  • less than 72 hours, refund less 50% of tour booking 
  • less than 24 hours or no show, 100% of tour booking fee is non refundable
