Your first stop will be the air-conditioned Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum dedicated to preserving the memory of the World War II POWs who died while being forced to build the infamous “Death Railway.” You’ll visit the Allied War Cemetery, the final resting place of the 6,000 Allied soldiers who lost their lives during the rail line’s construction. Your tour also includes a ride over of the Bridge on the River Kwai on the Death Railway train. 

Natural and cultural experiences are waiting for you. It starts with a one night stay at the nearby fabulous Hintok River Camp in deluxe, air-conditioned safari tents.

About Hintok River Camp

Honored as one of  the  top  ten  adventure  resorts  2009  in Asia Pacific, Hintok River Camp has 38 deluxe  air conditioned canvas tents. This is elegant camping. The tents are spacious ranging in size from 260 square feet to 330 square feet including your private veranda and attached private bathroom.  The tents are permanently fixed on a wooden base. The beds are queen and twin size, some beds are even triple size. The private outdoor showers have hot water, the air conditioning is individually controlled. The rustic style furniture is comfortable. Tents also have standing fan, table, small fridge, slippers and a make up table! Relax, swim, go hiking or cycling. 

About FloatHouse River Kwai Resort

On day 2 you will transfer to the luxurious Float House Resort on the river. Constructed with teakwood and bamboo and decorated with nautical flair, these are luxurious floating villas are one of a kind and only found here. The 18 air conditioned elegant boutique-floating villas are about 900 sq ft and are tastefully decorated in Thai folk style design with teakwood furniture enhancing the comfort and harmony with nature. Each villa features private balcony and pier where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility and River Kwai ambience. 

This River Kwai Tour also features explorations of the region's natural wonders. As an option for a small fee, you can visit the massive stalactites in the Lawa Cave. If you wish to add an additional night, we can arrange that for a reasonable fee, or, if you want your tour to include a visit to the cascading Saiyoke Waterfall, we can accommodate your wishes. 6:.00–06:30 Pick up from major hotel in Bangkok Downtown Area. Depart to Kanchanaburi province, 128 km. to the west of Bangkok. 9:00 Visit Thailand–Burma Railway Centre an interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand–Burma Railway. The fully air-conditioned center offers the visitor an educational and moving experience. Visit Allied War Cemetery, resting-place for more than 6,000 Allied prisoners of war (POWs). Visit the world-famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a part of Death Railway constructed by Allied POWs. 12:00 Arrive at Hin Tok River Camp, Check–in and have Lunch. 2:00 Visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum which is dedicated to those Allied Prisoners of War and Asian labourers who suffered and died at Hellfire Pass and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region during WW2. Then trekking along the Walking Trails from Hell Fire Pass to Hin Tok Station. Then picked up by minivan back to the camp. Late afternoon get on a mountain bike to visit a village or farm nearby the camp. 7:00 Dinner and overnight at Hintok River Camp in your air conditioned tent with private attached bathroom.

6:00 Early morning biking across a hanging bridge to the temple for merit making by giving food to monks 7:00 American Breakfast 9:00 Check out and take a long–tailed boat to get River Kwai Jungle Rafts to visit the ethnic Mon Tribal Village (Optional tours: Elephant Ride) 11:30 Depart to The FloatHouse River Kwai. Check in and have Lunch Personal time in the afternoon to enjoy floating down the river or explore the Lawa Cave or go canoeing or just relax in your luxurious room with private balcony overlooking the river. 7:00 Dinner, followed by a 45-minute presentation of Mon Dance. Overnight at The Float House River Kwai Resort in your air conditioned room and deluxe 10 inch mattresses with luxurious linens, jumbo pillows &  soft duvet and king size beds.

Good to Know

Pick Up and Drop Off:

This is door to door service. It can't get any easier. Just be ready for pick up at your downtown Bangkok Hotel between 6:00 to 6:30 am. Either a mini bus or the tour bus itself will pick you up.  After your reservation is confirmed and paid, email TourChoice.com with the name of your hotel in Bangkok. Don't worry, we will remind you. 

Food & Meals

The resorts serve delicous meals daily for breakfast, lunch and dinners. American breakfasts are served with fresh hot coffee and accompanied with fruits, salads, or muffins and toast.  Lunch and dinnerrs are local Thai variety. Choices of fresh fruits and salads are always available. You may order extra or something different a la cart and pay separately if you wish, although food portions are generally never a concern.

It's advisable that you store some of your luggage in your Bangkok hotel. Alternatively, you can bring all your luggage with you if you are flying out from Bangkok on the night that you return after the conclusion of the tour.

Tour Itinerary Changes:

Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on road conditions. Rejection of meals does not change the tour fee schedule.

Refund / Cancellation Policy: 

If the guest cancels the trip, the following applies: Number of days prior to trip start:

  • 21 days or more, full refund less 5% of tour price
  • 20 to 15 days, full refund less 10% of tour price
  • 14 days or less, refund less 50% of tour price
  • 1 day before, no show, forfiet 100% of tour price
  • Should there be any rejection of meals or sight-seeing tours; it cannot be claimed as a reason for refund or discount.
