On the first day, some fun activities and adventure!But we start with pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel, then move on to visit Hill tribe museum which helps provide you with context and understanding of hill tribe people in northern Thailand, especially Hmong Tribe.We will enjoy a visit to Mae Malai Market, where the local Thai agriculture products are sold daily.  This is worth a visit because some food items cannot be cannot be found in anywhere else.Traveling along a rural roads, we make our way to an elephant camp; here you can enjoy about an hours ride on an elephant. Anybody who has done this will tell you that the experience has a bonding feeling about it. Surrounded by greenery, the scenery of mountain style forests is the next enjoyable setting for a short distance oxcart ride that is included as part of your tour.It's back to elephant camp for a delicious and enjoyable lunch. We will drive through dirt roads on our way to rafting camp. After rafting security demonstration, paddling down Mae Taeng River on a rubber boat along 2nd and 3rd level of rapids for 45 minutes. The day ends and the evening beings as we roll into Hmong Hill Tribe Lodge.  Tonight will be BBQ dinner and Hmong Hill tribe performance.    


After a nice breakfast, start your day with a short walk around a Thai farmer village, Ban Mae Paa.  Thai families work and shop the farmers the very welcoming market. Then start cycling along a rural road from Ban Mae Paa village to Ban Pohng Gwao village, its not strenuous but if your energy level is up for it, you can cycle full circle up to Mae Pban irrigation reservoir, or end up at Pohng Gwao hot spring which is a modest 10-12 kilometers cycling trip. Cycling is a great way to get in touch with local people and culture. This Thai countryside has many green paddy fields but this varies depending on the season and you may well see different kind of farms.Picnic lunch is served in any picturesque location.After lunch, you will drive up to Ban Nhong Hoi Mai Village, where the Hmong tribe people settled down about 40 years ago. The elevation is about 1000 meters above sea level. The hill tribe are skilled in highland agriculture and farming, producing good quality crops. You will enjoy a nice  90 minute short hike to Ban Mae Khi  and then we will drive  back to Hmong Lodge in the late afternoon rest.** Remark: Cycling and Hiking on this day can be re-arranged following your own personal interest. These 2 main activities can be interchanged or you can do one or both depending on your interests. Thai Cooking: In the evening, join a small Thai cooking course by assisting the Hmong Hill Tribe Chef. Cook several kinds of Thai food and finish a lovely day by cooking your own food! A lot of fun! 


Wake up to an enjoyable breakfast.
A morning of relaxation and massage await you after breakfast. Be spoiled with a 90 minute tradtional Thai massage by the pool and then take a swim in the pool. Just enjoy the morning, the fresh mountain air and rural Thai life before checking out from Hmong Lodge and transfering you back to Chiang Mai. 
You will visit the Nhong Hoi Kao Royal Project Foundation, and have lunch at an Orchid farm.  Arrive back at your hotel in Chiang Mai in late afternoon or early evening. 

Good to Know

Pick Up and Drop Off:

This is door to door service. It can't get any easier. Just be ready for pick up at your downtown Chiang Mai Hotel at about 7:00 or 7:30 am.   After your reservation is confirmed and paid, please email and tell us the name of your hotel in Chiang Mai. Don't worry, we will remind you before your tour begins. 

Tour Highlights:

The tour is on a join up basis. American breakfasts are typically served with fresh hot coffee and accompanied with fruits, salads, or muffins and toast.  Lunch and dinnerrs are local Thai variety. Choices of fresh fruits and salads are always available. You may order extra or something different a la cart and pay separately if you wish, although food portions are generally never a concern.

What to Bring:

Bring your sense of adventure and be prepared to relax in the highlands. The resort is rustic yet very clean and comfortable. There are many activities that will catch your attention. Bring your passport, your camera, a hat, sunglasses and perhaps a good book. Sunscreen is good to have. It's advisable that you store some of your luggage in your Chiang Mai hotel. All hotels have a concierge service and a safe room to assist you with this.  You should also make a new reservation to return to that hotel in 2 nights time after the tour. Alternatively, you can bring all your luggage with you if you are flying out from Chiang Mai on the night that you return after the conclusion of the tour.

Tour Itinerary Changes:

Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on road conditions. Rejection of meals does not change the tour fee schedule.

  • A booking voucher & invoice will be emailed to you immediately upon confirmation of your reservation.

Refund / Cancellation Policy: 

If the guest cancels the trip, the following applies: Number of days prior to trip start:

  • 21 days or more, full refund less 5% of tour price
  • 20 to 15 days, full refund less 10% of tour price
  • 14 days or less, refund less 50% of tour price
  • 1 day before, no show, 100% of tour price
  • Should there be any rejection of meals or sight-seeing tours; it cannot be claimed as a reason for refund or discount.
